Educated in London, he started his career with Tinna Group of companies, promoted by Sekhri family in 1992. He was actively involved in the groups International trading business dealing in various commodities like Rice, Wheat, SBM and sugar.

In our new episode of The Brand Called You, we have for you a versatile businessman who has grown many businesses, Gaurav Sekhri. Gaurav has had an extensively diverse career. He started off at the age of 20 when he was trying to expand his family’s shoe business in England. Once that got settled he ventured into the agricultural and edible oil business and dealt with port handling for the same. He also entered the wine business and co-founded Fratelli, one of the major wines produced in the country today. Moving ahead with his diversity streak he formed Tinna Group with his family with an aim to recycle tyres.

Educated in London, he started his career with Tinna Group of companies, promoted by Sekhri family in 1992. He was actively involved in the groups International trading business dealing in various commodities like Rice, Wheat, SBM and sugar. Mr.Sekhri played a key role in indentifying ADM (A fortune 50 company, ranked among the top 3 Agri businesses in the World) as a partner and actively participated in formation and promotion of the joint venture with M/s Archer Daniels Midland (ADM). Until 2009, he oversaw running of the joint venture and all business verticals, including cargo handling operations, oil seed processing, branding and marketing of edible oils and marketing of  specialty food ingredients. In 2009, Mr.Gaurav Sekhri promoted a new Joint venture with ‘M/s Viterra Inc, Canada. At the time, Viterra was among the top 10 agri business in the World and the largest Canadian agri products company with a market capitalisation of over Usd6 Billion. In 2013, Viterra got taken over by Glencore Plc, Netherlands. Due to this event, Tinna Group, under leadership of Mr. Sekhri, bought out Viterra’s holding in the joint venture. Mr. Sekhri now runs it as its Managing Director. In 2018, the company was de-merged from its parent company and got listed on the BSE . Other than above, he has promoted M/s  BGK Infrastructure Developers Ltd, which is a leading provider of warehousing services to the agri sector.
