• If you believe the best way to promote your product or service is to simply tell people your product or service is great and bang them on the head with a command to buy it, don’t come to me.
• Most broadcasters do it that way. I don’t.
• My philosophy is based on the principle that nobody approaches a business to fulfil a desire to part with his or her money and give it to somebody else. People are looking to see what value *they* can acquire.
If you give them hype and jump on them quickly, asking for money, they sense that you are selfish and don’t really care about their welfare.
• As a television broadcaster, I am interested in giving people premium content that has value for them. I want to excite them and surprise them. I want to give them information they can use. I earn their trust by demonstrating, through my actions, that my motive is to help them build a media property and not extract money from them.
• It is precisely this kind of trust that leads to long-term relationships that enable businesses to acquire a positive reputation, a strong brand, a positive public image, and a secure financial future.
