Shubhra Puri is the Founder of Gurgaon First, who conducts workshops, roundtables and publishes handbooks on Gurugram. GF brings together diverse stakeholders including corporates, government, administration, citizen groups, RWAs, schools, NGOs, and the media on a common platform to discuss issues of critical importance to the city.

GF has published “Gurugram Handbook of Waste Management”, the first handbook under Swachh Bharat Mission. Ms. Puri has been writing extensively with media and journals. Since October 2018, she has been writing with Hindustan Times (Gurugram edition) under the column “Human Impact” on key issues concerning Gurugram. She has also written for Times of India, Down to Earth, and other prestigious publications.

Ms. Puri is a trustee with Raahgiri Foundation. She is an advisor for the One Stop Centre for Women in Gurugram initiated by District Managerial Committee under the District Commissioner. She is also part of the ICC Committee under Prevention of Sexual Harassment for two organizations.

Ms. Puri writes, composes and produces songs on sustainability issues. These include a Swachhta Anthem for Gurugram, a national song on Swachhta for the Ministry of Urban Development, a jingle for Gurugram’s Gurujal (Water) project, and a song on tackling air pollution.

An MBA, Ms. Puri started her career as a journalist with The Economic Time in 1995. She later worked as Editor-content for Power Line and India Infrastructure magazines at India Infrastructure Publishing (Pvt) Ltd and was involved with developmental, policy, and regulatory issues concerning the infrastructure sector.
