But the moment we end our break, we go back to our usual lifestyle and stop thinking about what we saw and felt. But there is a breed in this world which does not stop thinking. Our guest for today Ann D’Silva and our host both are Authors. They have both agreed that ‘the authors are the people who are not afraid to put what they feel and know in front of the world even if they get brickbats against it’.

Her show is called, ‘Ann talks Women Enough’. She is a Global Goodwill Ambassador. She has been awarded many times for the work she does.

Ann left her corporate job to follow her passion for writing. She wanted to make a difference in the world through her voice. This is how her writing journey started. She is also a Poet by passion and by profession.

About Ann’s books titled, ‘Sand & Sea: Footprints in the Sand’ and ‘Sand and Sea: The child of two Worlds’

Ann is highly interested in the old cultures of different countries. Talking about Turkey she says she was intrigued by Turkish history as well.

Her books ‘Sand & Sea: Footprints in the Sand’ and ‘Sand and Sea: The child of two Worlds’ are trilogies about respecting nature. She believes that every time mankind disrespects nature, nature reforms mankind.

Talking about Sand and Sea, she says that the concept of love can also be witnessed in nature. She says that Sand and Sea can never be separated from each other, similarly, lovers cannot be separated from each other.

She also uses Sand as a metaphor for ego and water as a metaphor for soft and feminine feelings coexisting in humans. The book talks about soul mates from India and Turkey.

This book has been awarded as it also strengthens the relationship between the two countries.

Ann as a Poet

Ann tells us that she has been writing poetry since the age of six. She tells us that she used to talk in poems to her family and used to keep a journal of her writings since the very naive age of six.

She believes that poems are very natural for her. It has been ingrained in her nature since a very young age.

What makes someone a good writer?

According to Ann, Authenticity, Vulnerability, and Bravery is the three qualities that make someone a good writer.

She says that when you are authentic and show the courage to write powerful scripts even when you are wounded inside, that connects to the audience and their tears come out.

Why has the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) become so important today?

Ann says that we live in an educated era with illiterate people. There are people who have academic degrees but judge people on the basis of caste, color, sex, past, region, etc. She believes that this is the time to tell people that these designations do not matter.

How to remove biases from society?

Ann believes that parents should teach their children the right things. According to her, there should be an eligibility certificate issued by the government to the parents before having a child, otherwise, they are going to ruin someone’s future.

She says that when repressive thoughts are developed in a child, it takes more than ten years to move out.

How are the millennials changing the whole concept of Inclusion?

Ann believes that some of the millennial leaders of countries and organizations are doing phenomenal jobs. They take their territory as one unit. They include all the patriarchs and matriarchs in their ecosystem.

It is like a family dinner table. She believes that as long as we stay as a family, we can be one world, one people, and one country.

Due to the Inclusiveness India has, Ann says that India is not a country with borders, India is a spirit instead.

The most powerful statement India has is the concept of ‘Athiti Devo Bhava’, which means ‘Guest is God’.
