03:03- Can you explain to me the concept of simplifying coaching and its importance in your practice?
- I’ve observed the tendency for coaches to engage in a three-way conversation during coaching sessions: with the coachee, our reservoir of knowledge, and the ongoing dialogue.
- While knowledge and insights are essential, excessive reliance on them can hinder rather than facilitate effective coaching.
- Over the years, I’ve refined my training course, gradually simplifying the content and handouts to focus on what truly matters.
21:33- What is one piece of advice you would like to give to our viewers and listeners who are considering coaching as a tool for personal or professional growth?
- My key message is that effective coaching goes beyond tools and techniques; it’s about having the courage to sit with uncertainty and be okay with not having all the answers.
- One of my books addresses the need for humility in coaching and emphasizes the importance of being the smallest person in the room.
- Coaches often express interest in simplifying coaching, recognising its effectiveness, but struggle to implement it, which is covered in my book.
