Today on our show we have global businessman, Bernard Auyang in conversation with our host Ashutosh Garg. Bernard is the CEO of Computime Group which is a tech manufacturing company based in Hong Kong. He’s also the Founder of Vida Nova Ventures, a direct investment company focusing on media, electronics, and tech companies.
Bernard has been in the business for many years and he brings his experience and expertise on the show, he tells us how one can make their brand successful and global, he tells us that giving back to the ecosystem, sustainability, pricing strategy, etc are the key elements. He then tells us about the evolution of the market due to millennial and gen z customers, with customers focusing on transparency of the company, social media, content, and sustainability of the brand while buying the product.

Profile
Bernie was born in Hong Kong and went abroad to attend Deerfield Academy in the United States at the age of 16. He graduated from Harvard University magna cum laude in Economics and East Asian studies.
Upon graduation, Bernie joined his family business, Computime Group Limited, a publicly listed intelligent control company based in Hong Kong that operates in 14 countries globally. He became the CEO in 2002 and brought the company public in 2006. Bernie left Computime and founded Vida Nova Ventures in 2009. Vida Nova is a direct investment company that focuses on media, electronics and technology companies in China, Hong Kong and the US. He was also the Co-founder and CEO of Altis Zenus Group, a global brand and product company that designs and distribute consumer and commercial electronic products under global brands such as Cobra, Motorola, DeWalt and Craftsman.
In 2020, he re-joined Computime as an Executive Director and CEO which is now a technology, product and manufacturing company, operating three businesses; Computime Control Solutions, an OEM/ODM engineering and manufacturing company in electronic products, Salus Group, a B2B branded company focusing on IoT and HVAC products and CT Nova, a B2C company focusing on product and distribution of smart products for home and consumers. Bernie is also a Non-Executive Director of Sumida Corporation (TSE 6817) and Lever Style Corporation (HKEX 1346).
Apart from his business interests, Bernie is also active in the community. He is a member of YPO and served as the International Chairman of YPO/WPO in 2014-2015. Bernie is a Board and Excom member of Chinese University of Hong Kong Medical Centre, Council Member of St. Paul’s Co-Educational College, Trustee of SPCC Charitable Trust, past Council Member of Lingnan University in Hong Kong, Court Member of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Trustee of the Hong Kong Outward Bound School. He is also an Advisory Board member of the Institute of Chinese Studies of Chinese University and a Trustee of Proctor Academy in the US.
Bernie was named the recipient of the Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong in 1999 and was named the Hong Kong Young Industrial Ambassador in 2003. He is married to Susan and is the father of their boy-girl twins Colette and Tristan.
