- Her workshops, talks, and meditation offerings have been developed to raise consciousness in the workplace and ourselves as individuals.
- After leaving her last corporate role, she stopped and resisted the urge to jump into another high-flying city job. She focused on her purpose and fulfilled some of her long-held passions.
- When reflecting on her corporate life, something that kept popping up was the lack of empathy in many organizations.
- The difficulty of stepping into someone else’s shoes and understanding that they may feel and think differently from you. Not intentionally, but there nonetheless.
- She decided to do something to positively influence the landscape of corporate leadership and corporate human behaviour.
- She used mindfulness and lived experiences to rewrite the story uniquely.
[19:00]- Meadow and Marley’s magical Mix.
- There are two sides to me- one side is very corporate and structured, and the other side is very playful.
- It is about my real niece and nephew, Meadow and Marley. They are also of mixed heritage.
- I was looking for books to buy for them, but I could not find characters of mixed heritage.
- I am a writer and poet myself. Therefore, I decided to publish a book with the main characters of mixed heritage.
- Meadow and Marley are on a mission to understand their heritage! When this duo heads on a trip to the market, they discover there is so much to learn from delicious food and curious passers-by.
- This inspirational, action-packed adventure enables little ones and their parents to cultivate pride in their unique mixed-heritage backgrounds!
[22:43]- What three lessons do you want listeners and viewers to take away from this conversation and your journey?
- See the people around you as human beings.
- Develop a sense of inclusion and self which is essential. Love yourself and be able to rely more on your strength than to keep looking to others for an endorsement.
- Be curious
