04:53- Motivation to start Avishkaar
- Education is that one industry or sector where the consumer has moved on.
- Children learn in very different ways. Our education system needs to catch up significantly.
- The consumer is not at the heart of the system.
- There is one small part of it that we are trying to tackle: children need to learn technologies, have the vocabulary for technology, and know that they can use it to solve problems.
- Our goal is for all children to have the basics of computational thinking. How they can take a problem and begin to think about it in a systematic manner.
- The children learn to use their hands and apply the knowledge. That is mechanical design.
- The third part of it is design thinking where children can use these tools to approach a difficulty.
12:35- How are parents reacting to these opportunities?
- There is confusion in the mind of the parents and a bit of paranoia as well.
- In our time, there was insecurity, and they wanted to see the children successful.
- Now, parents know there are many ways to become successful. But it’s hard to let go of that tried and tested road.
27:52- Three lessons for the viewers
- Build your way forward, not think it forward.
- Strike a balance between consistency and exploration.
- Ask for help. Not every closed door is locked
