- However, the way fighter pilots approach habit formation is intriguing.
- It’s a tailored approach that adapts to your individual needs and circumstances. This “feel-think-do Loop” connects how you feel to what you think and what you do, using a feedback loop to constantly improve your actions.
- This approach is crucial in high-consequence environments like fighter aviation, where mistakes can be life-threatening. It’s a simple four-step cycle of plan, brief, execute, and debrief, but it requires honesty and accountability, both with oneself and with a supportive peer group.
