[04:49] – How did your early experience as an assistant to a lawyer influence your professional journey?

  • I initially wanted to become a lawyer and was fascinated by the courtroom dramas I saw on TV.
  • However, working in the legal field didn’t prove lucrative at the time, and I found the work unappealing.
  • It was a suggestion from a lawyer, who noticed my knack for numbers, that led me to pursue Chartered Accountancy instead.

  • Sustainability is a key focus for Guru and Jana.
  • We have implemented numerous environmentally friendly practices, such as eliminating paper, removing dustbins from the office, and encouraging employees to bring their own containers for meals to avoid waste.
  • We also plan to plant around 150 trees at our new office, striving to go beyond carbon neutrality.

[19:42] – What is the “Yarado” vision, and what does it signify for Guru and Jana’s future?

  • “Yarado” means “two” in Kannada, and the vision behind it is to clone Guru and Jana, essentially creating a second version of the firm.
