Anthony Wong is an experienced 4th Industrial Revolution ICT Lawyer, Technologist and CIO, with over thirty years of international executive and board-level experience across the public, commercial & not for profit sectors with particular experience in technology, legal, corporate governance, compliance and risk management, digital transformation and change management across the education, tourism, construction, insurance, financial services, media, business services & consulting, and the data and digitisation industries.

- He is the Director of AGW Legal & Advisory, a multidisciplinary legal and advisory practice advising in many areas of law and technology.
- He is the President-Elect of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) established under the auspices of UNESCO in 1960.
12:00- What do you hope to achieve in your term as President?
- I’m bringing the breadth and length of the experience from all that I’ve done in life as a teacher, lawyer, leader, etc.
- I look forward to helping to develop some of the programs that help with where we’re going with the world.
- My role as the president now is to harness all that expertise, knowledge, skills, background, and multidisciplinary abilities to help the world with moving forward with some of the innovative practices of ICT.
- But as far as looking at some of the challenges, particularly AI ethics and regulation, we have looked at many features of that around the world, from the European Union to Australia itself, looking at how to regulate this thing called AI and the use of data, how to protect data and manage data used to feed artificial intelligence, and automated systems.
32:00- What is your focus regarding the metaverse and fundamentals of AI?
- It has facets of obviously, augmented and mixed reality and virtual reality, but it has AI in it as well.
- It’s the whole basis of the metaverse. But we do have other things involved as well, obviously, IoT, blockchain and many, many things.
- So the world is getting more complicated, not because we want it to be, but because this technology has many facets to it, so we must now be multifaceted to cope and manage and develop those new things with multiple facets.
- We need to be multiple-faceted ourselves to understand how they should be evolving and how they should be managed and developed ethically and how they should be deployed and used in many areas of human endeavour.
- So Metaverse is one grey area.
