Vijay Gupta is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Think Future Technologies Pvt. Ltd. responsible for Product development as a service, rendering services to more than 100 clients in the USA, Israel, and India by leveraging the potential of 350+ employees and in return driving operational excellence and customer delight for all the stakeholders.
[00:52] What made you an entrepreneur?
When I graduated, I never thought of leaving India and going abroad. My mind was always clear that I wanted to do a job for 4-5 years and then take up my own business.
[02:04] About Think Future Technologies Pvt Ltd.
Think Future Technologies was started in 2007. Prior to this almost 15 years, we had made products and the products were very successful, but we never became kind of a unicorn. The reason for the same way, we had a strong engineering background, but we were not so strong with market strategies and raising money.

The product development has a lot of pieces, we are focusing on the engineering aspect. Product development as a service focuses on either one or the whole nine yards. In product development, a lot of things do not need to be automated. It could be a combination of manual and automated solutions.
[07:04] About the InPage platform
With the advent of MS Windows in 1990, Vijay decided to take a leap of faith and formed an entrepreneurial venture along with his batch mate to develop high-end language solutions on the PC platform. This resulted in the In Page platform with a variety of language solutions for the Japanese, Perso-Arabic, and Indian language markets.
[09:32] Going solo vs. having a Co-founder
It is very valuable to have a Co-Founder. The role definition should be very clear. You are able to discuss approaches and business matters, and you are able to fine-tune your strategy.
Being a solo entrepreneur is a very lonely job.
[11:04] Qualities of an entrepreneur
- Ability to prioritize
- Doing more with less
- Having a breadth of knowledge
[12:54] Why do start-ups fail?
The top three reasons are related to three things:
- The product
- The customer
- The money
[14:38] Should one bootstrap as long as possible or raise money?
My advice would be to bootstrap. You have to bootstrap, you have to prove a concept, and nobody will give you money unless you are bootstrapped.
