00:57- What do you mean by you help Leaders at a crossroads to do the work of their life?
- I think what I mean by Crossroads is a sense of dissatisfaction or something missing. This could be with success or without success.
02:05- How does one determine when to reach out to Sumit?
- People reach out when they know that there is something ahead for them, and yet at the same time they are not able to make progress.
04:22- How has your background supported you in your coaching career?
- My coaching career is very personal. I derive a lot from my background.
- I can listen and relate to people so well because I have gone through such phases in my life.
09:29- Impact of culture on coaching
- Coaching is becoming more professional.
- Earlier it was more mentoring.
- A coach needs to have that ability to see the influence of culture on their own self as well as the other person.
- Culture plays a huge role, but it does not limit it. It only makes it richer.
17:45- About Deploy Yourself
- A new kind of leadership (Deploy Yourself) is required in the 21st century. Covid has turbocharged what was already a VUCA environment – volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous.
- More importantly, people today want to be led differently and have different expectations from leaders – they seek not only productivity and salary but also joy, meaning, purpose, wellbeing, and constant growth from their leaders.
- And workplaces today need to be fun and healthy as well as productive and results-focused.
20:34- Advice to the young individuals
- Follow your passion.
- Learn to say NO.
