Aekta is the Founder of eShe magazine, she is also a lifestyle journalist. She has worked for many major newspapers, online and in print as well. She is also an author.
In the interview, Aekta talks to us about her work for the Indo-Pak summit, she emphasizes the need for a peace summit where the youth and women from both countries are involved. She suggests different ways of having a peaceful relationship with our neighbor Pakistan.
Known for her feminist comments, Aekta talks to us about some of her controversial comments. She shares her opinion on marriages in our country, she tells us that women are prettified and beautified in our country and are reduced to bodily functions after she’s married and we as a society, have accepted that. She emphasizes the need to give more power and agency to women in our society. Aekta then talks to us about her book, “Hundred Paths” which she tells us is about her spiritual journey and how she was able to find God and divine inspiration in daily activities.

A lifestyle journalist and magazine editor based in New Delhi, Aekta Kapoor is the founder and publisher of eShe.in, a monthly magazine and blog about the real-life, extraordinary stories of women around the world. She has authored the spiritual memoir ‘100 Paths’.
Aekta is also a motivational speaker and curator of personal-growth workshops for women hosted by eShe magazine, called ‘Shine Your Light’.
She facilitates fun, empowering sessions and conducts guided group meditations at Shine Your Light. Certified in hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming and Pranic healing, she gives in-depth motivational talks tinged with humor that make you reflect and challenge your set beliefs. Her specializations are: women’s empowerment, personal development, writing and editing, digital content, blogging, increasing mindfulness, overcoming obstacles, purposeful living, healing relationships, and activating joy.
She has worked across both print and online media, mostly in the luxury, lifestyle and fashion space. She was the launch editor of Fashion101.in, India’s first multi-lingual fashion news and celebrity style portal, available in English, Hindi and Gujarati. Prior to that, she was part of the launch teams of Marie Claire and Harper’s Bazaar Bride, and was the editor of monthly lifestyle magazines Atelier, Diva and Wedding Vows.
As an independent journalist, she writes on lifestyle, fashion and women’s issues for newspapers and magazines such as Open, The Economic Times, Mint Lounge and Blackbook, besides many others. In 2016, she received the Women Economic Forum award for Iconic Innovative Leaders in Media.
She has been a speaker at several forums including guest lectures at IIM Ahmedabad, and several other media and fashion colleges in Delhi, Jaipur and Bhopal.
