  • In India, it is primarily an import dependent industry.
  • The doctors and surgeons have been used to certain brands. 
  • The major challenge is competing with these brands and trying to establish yourself in the market.  
  • Another challenge is establishing credibility in the market outside India. 

[05:23] – What is your approach when you look at entering new international markets?

  • The value we will be bringing to the hospitals, the users or the patients.
  • We brainstorm about bringing innovations or customisations to bring in more efficiency to the surgical process.
  • We also analyse the market and the current products to see if there is a space that we can enter.
  • We want to enter into markets where we can get a disproportionate share. 
  • We don’t want to be one of the long tail in an international market, rather we want a dominant player.  

[16:41] – What steps is Healthium taking to handle ethical considerations when developing and marketing the products?

  • The leadership has laid down the ethical boundaries that we as an organisation are not willing to cross.
  • We are okay to forego business if it comes down to that but ethics and compliance are absolutely paramount. 
  • We also have a very strong team of compliance and clinical affairs which is involved in every marketing activity and the procedures that we’ve developed internally before any marketing activity or any NCP engagement gets executed.
