00:39- About Dr Anil Khandelwal

  • He’s the author of several books, including The Gym of Leadership and Dare to Lead.

15:49- What are some of the unique challenges in your view leaders face today when managing uncertainty, and how can they prepare for unforeseen crises?

  • This book focuses on building a strong foundation in self-awareness, emotional regulation, relationships, and communication, equipping readers fundamentally rather than providing direct crisis-handling recipes.
  • Developing 18 essential skills, prepares individuals to build resilience and face challenges, emphasizing that leaders must remain steadfast.
  • While it doesn’t guarantee success in all circumstances, the book ensures that investing in yourself strengthens your mind, body, emotions, and intellect.

25:50- What is your vision for the future of leadership, especially in those businesses that are going through a significant transformation?

  • My vision is to create a vast number of leadership assets within the organization, as these assets ensure the organization’s safety and continuity when leaders move on.
  • Leadership assets can only be cultivated by creating an ecosystem of learning and aligning programs at Harvard, or IIM with a broader learning agenda.
  • Without an ecosystem, training programs risk becoming mere entertainment rather than meaningful contributors to developing leadership in disruptive times.
