06:11- Can you talk to us a little bit about some of the principles of the Blue Ocean Strategy and its impact on business?
- Blue Ocean Strategy pushes you to look at “non-customers” – people not served yet by existing solutions. It gets you to explore uncontested, non-competitive spaces with new rules.
- It’s a mindset and methodology that makes you break free from just trying to beat the competition in the same red ocean.
- Great examples like Tesla, serve spaces and customers in ways no one had done before. Elon Musk often plays in and creates new blue oceans versus just competing in existing red oceans.
26:04- Where do you see the field of corporate strategy heading in the next few years?
- The area of recreating cells, tissues or organs that need repair, such as 3D printing organs for transplants, is fascinating.
- With the population still growing significantly before plateauing, and natural resources increasingly scarce, we need to use land and water more efficiently and sustainably through smart technology.
- With the planet set to reach 11 billion people, technology can help ensure we put natural resources to their best use so that humankind continues to thrive despite resource constraints.
