Overview
The hue and cry around climate change are real and are getting serious with each passing day. While some of us are pertinently working to defer the disasters, some aren’t even bothered. Despite the pool of knowledge around us regarding the environment and its deteriorating conditions, we least realize that even our food habits affect the earth massively.
Although the percentage of vegans and vegetarians is as small as 6-11% in this world as per the United Nations’ figures, the hatred towards factory farming is ever-increasing. From Hollywood celebrities like James Cromwell, and Ellen Page to famed comedians like Frank Ferrante and Russell Brand to the Gen Z and millennial influencers all are the flag bearers of veganism and vegetarianism. While they might be the front-runners for the cause, Clive Dsouza is here with us who will reason the cause and explain why this lifestyle is towards sustainability and a better world.

02:46- What have been your challenges and learnings as you have scaled up?
- The biggest challenge is awareness.
- The second part related to it would be the money that you need to create this kind of awareness.
03:57- Unless you have non-vegetarian-based proteins, you’re not eating properly how are you countering this myth?
- Even keeping the science aside, 33 to 35 percent of India is vegetarian, which itself defeats the understanding that we can’t survive without meat.
- We’ve been fed this lie that meat and dairy have been essential for our growth.
06:46- How large do you think is the market for plant-based or vegan products in India and globally?
- There is a global demand because big companies are running into sales of millions and projections of billions in the coming decades.
- Strictly limited to India, we’re at a very nascent stage.
08:12- Advantages of becoming a vegan
- Veganism is one of the most selfless things you can do.
- It’s about you, not harming another animal.
- It will improve your health whether you talk about cholesterol.
- The environment will also vastly be benefited if even 50% of the world went vegan.
