04:49- What are some of the common ways corporate norms stifle leadership potential?
- A lot of people are stifled in their leadership potential by corporate norms, driven by the belief that they must fit in, and avoid mistakes to appear smart.
- Early in my career, I viewed myself as two different people: a home personality and a professional personality, with the latter being risk-averse, impersonal, and focused on looking good.
- These corporate norms hinder success, as true achievement today comes from bringing the best ideas and the authentic self to the table.
22:41- What do you believe is the future of leadership in today’s new world, and how do you prepare leaders for it when you coach them?
- As AI automates or assists much of the work, the emphasis will increasingly be on people, relationships, and building productive team cultures, making people-oriented leadership essential.
- Leaders need to shift from focusing solely on delivering results to empowering their teams to deliver results, which requires authenticity and honesty.
- The best leaders build trust and respect by bringing more of themselves to work, fostering stronger relationships and a happier, more effective team dynamic.
