Today’s guest, Netanel Eliav acts as CTO & CEO of SightBit and is slated to join the company’s Board of Directors. In 2021, Netanel was chosen as one of the World’s Leading AI Innovators by NVIDIA. In 2022, he was listed among the World’s Top 60 AI and Data leaders. Some of Netanel’s known projects are: Cylon 0.1, VizNet, etc.
00:56- What led to the career that you have today?
Firstly, I want to be the number one in all fields and secondly, I don’t care to fail.
At a young age we had a group that played multiplayer games. We learned by playing with computers at school.
I was very curious about how things work, and I wanted to do things that people said was difficult.
After that I served in the army where I learned about the equipment world and the software world and the intelligence world.
15:09- What did BA in Economics and working at companies like Intel teach you?
When you have your own company, you have to do a lot of things that you are not comfortable with, so I went for the Economics degree.
The economics degree helped me a lot in my businesses and in making investments.
One thing you learn at these companies is how to deal with your ego because you are 1 in thousands of similar people.
Secondly you learn how imperfect these big softwares like Gmail and Microsoft is how much room is there to improves.
24:49- Talk about Cylon 0.1 and VizNet.
Cylon is an evolutionary algorithm that can live without human interference.
It is a combination of deep learning, machine learning and cybersecurity and requires enormous amounts of feedback.
VizNet is a deep learning algorithm that can help classify images in a better manner. It is a temporal analysis system.
35:55- Tell us about SighBit
Nothing exists really, in aquatic sites, for public safety, to try to save us human from the water that we are drinking, and like to swim.
SighBit is a SaaS that analyses the camera feed in real time to prevent mishaps and to alert about anomalies at sea.
The first core technology detects any type of object in the water and its contexts like a person drowning or a kid about to be met with a high tide.
The second core is for detection of the water situation hazards like tsunamis and unusually high tides. Through this we predicted a tsunami 50 minutes before it hit the coastline.
SighBit does not require new cameras. It can work with any camera, be it security cameras or black and white cameras.
48:26- What future trends we should pay attention to?
Data is going to be the new gold. Machine learning and deep learning going to be in everywhere. You can find out everything in anything about anyone, which can be both good and bad.
I think that the time to fight the non-private world is gone, and we should start getting used to it. Every company will use our data.
It will ease our life in the sense that we can get better medicines and better healthcare and a lot more.

Netanel Eliav is the CTO & CEO of SightBit which develops Artificial Intelligence Systems for Smart Detection of Adverse Situations in Water to Prevent Escalation.
By age 14, his first major product was a fork of the Sub-Seven, which acted as remote-control software, which he built to research the ability to breach the defenses of giants like Microsoft and Symantec.
Netanel went on to earn a B.A. in Economics, an MBA in Strategy, and a MSc in Computer Science. He is also a member of The Israel Information Technology (IT) Association.
