05:26- You “bridge the gap between business, psychology, and entrepreneurship” – please help me understand with an example
- My career path has been a blend of psychology and business, with an early exposure to business through my father who owned a small business and became a stockbroker.
- I recall spending time working on algebra while my father worked on stock charts, and he would share stories about business, which piqued my interest.
- I feel lucky to discover that my greatest skill was helping people when I was 19 years old, which I consider my superpower.
- I realized that effective communication was essential for being a successful leader and began to bridge the gap between effective communication, leadership, and productivity.
11:16- What are the major challenges for young leaders today, and how can organizations and mentors support their growth?
- I believe in generational differences but also acknowledge that young leaders have similar struggles to those of previous generations, although they may be facing different circumstances due to technological advancements.
- I can not emphasize enough the importance of expanding required skills beyond just technical proficiency, especially in family businesses where younger generations may lack people skills.
- Once I worked with a young entrepreneur to condense a 30-slide presentation into five slides with clear, concise messaging to effectively communicate with a CEO.
