09:11- What role do personal strengths play in achieving happiness?

  • There is a strong correlation between playing to your natural strengths and talents and experiencing happiness and flow.
  • We are slowly moving away from expectations imposed by previous generations or society, and giving kids the chance to do what they love and then find a way to get paid for it.
  • Over the next few decades, there may be an interesting shift towards helping people connect their innate talents and strengths to their life’s purpose and work, which will lead to more fulfilment and happiness.

17:20- What advice would you have for someone struggling to find fulfilment in their life?

  • I had to find purpose in the little things – being able to cook for my boys and get them to school and sport. Even when life doesn’t feel full, you still have purpose in the basics.
  • Start looking for opportunities to improve your spirit or enlarge your soul. Everyone can go on that journey to raise their soul, no matter how lost.
  • Do something that contributes to your well-being and wellness. Then when you have capacity, start contributing to others, which gives you more fulfillment.
