03:20- What would you say have been some of your own learnings in this journey?
- I never stopped learning right from the day when I started my journey, even till today.
- And the most important part is that I shifted that knowledge into wisdom by practicing it.
- Because once you have acquired some skills and knowledge and all that, unless you translate that into practical things on the ground, it is of no use.
- The second thing is to always believe in making things very simple.
- Keeping things simple, because all secrets of life, they open in simplicity.
- And at the same time, one has to work really, really hard. One also has to work smart.
04:43- What would you say has been your leadership style?
- My leadership style was flexible in nature.
- One end of the line, you have the hierarchical leadership. And on the other side, you have the egalitarian leadership.
- You have to change your leadership style as per the situation.
- Flexibility is the key, because the moment you’re flexible, you’re open to all kinds of opportunities and to do well.
- And that’s what I followed, never stuck to one style, kept it open, kept it flexible.
08:58- How have you seen technology change the army over the last few decades?
- I started my journey exactly about four decades ago.
- And that is the time when we were in the third generation of warfare.
- And thereafter we started improving, started involvement. Many things happened, many things we did right.
- And, technology is always a driver for evolution.
- We got into maneuver warfare by getting the high mobility vehicle, these surveillance devices and the night vision capabilities improved tremendously.
- We also graduated to code generation, which is information warfare that happened in the 90s.
- And information warfare now got supported by the media, social media, and the internet technology.
