00:51- Tell me about your journey and what brought you to the World of Arts and Entertainment.
- When I was younger, I started to grow a love for music.
- I grew up in Chicago, and that is when I started listening to hip-hop music.
- After college, I was working at ACE Hotel as an event planner.
- A young lady who sat next to me went to the NYU Clive Davis Institute for Recorded Music which is one of the best schools in the world for music artists.
- It was essentially her idea for me to start going into management and I started managing her.
03:39- What exactly is The Mezz Effect?
- To put it simply, you are unfuckwithable.
- It means that you are a leader, not a follower; that you know what you’re bringing to the table and bring it every single day.
- You are hardworking, determined, and, above all else, a professional.
- Everybody who immerses themselves in Mezz Entertainment is bound to experience The Mezz Effect, elevating their status as a professional in the process by performing at the top of their game daily.
09:43- What goes into managing the “ego” of senior artists?
- Most artists do have egos and they kind of have to because if they don’t believe in themselves, it’s really hard to convince other people to believe them.
- Sometimes you just have to feed into it.
- I’ve gone to a point where I’ve accepted for the most part that that’s just the nature of the business.
- But sometimes you do have to check them, if you knew everything you wouldn’t need me.
