03:36- About The Innovation & Creativity Institute

  • When I was in the Master in Entrepreneurship program, there was an Innovation and Creativity course.
  • And I just became completely obsessed with learning everything I could about innovation and creativity.
  • I took that knowledge and started my first version of coaching in 2005.
  • I make one-on-one coaching, masterclasses, workshops, speaking engagements, and retreats.

09:14- How does culture impact you as a coach?

  • I seek out differences mindfully all the time.
  • If you look at what makes a compelling piece of art, it’s the contrasts. It is the differences. It’s the big bold mark next to the gentle tiny mark, or the big splash of color next to the quiet hue, or this shape next to that shape.
  • I take that approach to everything that I do with coaching.

18:07- Basic mistakes a lot of entrepreneurs make

  • The first one is to hold yourself back from trying for way too long.
  • The next thing would be to try to go from zero to scaling Everest in two days, without doing lots of little tests and experiments, while you still have your ongoing comfort of having a paycheck.
  • The third thing is to let the things that you don’t know, hold you back from going to the next level.
