[03:50] – How did you cope with the emotional and physical toll of the diagnosis and the subsequent treatment?

  • After going through a period of emotional turmoil, including anger and frustration, I decided to face the situation head-on. 
  • I realised that moaning and groaning wouldn’t solve the problem. 

[06:27] – What support systems or resources did you find most helpful during this journey?

  • Annual Medical Checkups: Prioritise your regular medical checkups, even for general health, as they can detect issues early.
  • Medical Insurance: Having medical insurance for oneself and family, acquired at a younger age, provided significant financial support during the treatment.
  • Writing a Will: It is important to write a will and communicate clearly about their financial assets to ease the burden on family members in case of unexpected events.

[17:48] – What do you wish more people understood about cancer and the journey with cancer?

  • Curability: Many types of cancers, especially when caught at early stages, are curable or manageable. 
  • Early Treatment: Delaying medical treatment can increase the risk of mortality.
  • Scientific Medicine: While alternative and naturopathic treatments may have their place, it’s crucial to prioritise scientifically proven medical treatments prescribed by doctors.
