01:56- Did you decide you were fascinated by boxing in high school or college?
- I was always a big sports fan but not necessarily a boxing fan.
- The reason I got into Boxing journalism is that I got a job. And 44 years later, I am still doing it.
- I had no intention of getting involved in boxing.
- I loved sports and from the very beginning, what made boxing so interesting to me, and it remains as such to this day, is how interesting the athletes are.
07:36- How did your parents feel about boxing?
- Writing about it and broadcasting about it is safer than doing it. They had no problem with my job.
- The boxing business has been pretty dirty. To be in the media frees me from the financial risks and getting physically hurt.
- It is really the best of both worlds because I am a part of sports without committing myself.
11:22- You have been called the Best Boxing Historian
- I am not even close to being that. The history of the sport is so deep and rich.
- I am 65 and I learn every day. I never stop learning.
- Boxing mirrors society so much. History is filled with fascinating people.
