Overview
We all are surrounded by plastic products in our homes and offices. Practically, it is not possible for us to completely stop the use of products. Plastic is used in the packaging of a lot of products, be it dairy products or medical products, etc. Multi-layered plastic that is used in small sachets is even more dangerous because that is completely non-recyclable. So, the next best step is to use the plastic that we can, instead of throwing it away. Today we have with us Sharang to tell us about how he is making the world a better place by managing plastic waste.

01:02- Tell me a little bit about FeelGood.
- It started during the lockdown in the mid of May when the covid was at its peak.
- We noticed that plastic pouches were being thrown away causing a lot of problems for the ocean life.
- We started by making pillows from plastic pouches of milk, and it gained popularity very soon.
- This venture not just helped in waste management but also helped me make a lot of friends.
08:20- How have you found a solution for multi-layered plastic?
- Multi-layered plastics are non-recyclable. But, we have developed a technology which helps us to make different products by using this plastic as a raw material.
- One of our partner companies that helped us during the lockdown is actually the biggest recycler in India.
- The process that we have to follow is that we have to collect a lot of plastic from different industries and factories and convert them into small granules which are then used to make products.
13:09- Do you think you are delaying the plastic problem by making another product?
- After a lot of research, we have come to the conclusion that we cannot stop using plastic completely.
- Even during covid, medical equipment was made of plastic, and it is not practical to just stop the usage of plastic.
- It is better to use what we already have rather than make a new product out of plastic. So, we are not delaying the plastic issue, we are actually controlling it.
