  • We do not have any control over what happens to us.
  • The only control we have is what we do when we are stimulated or challenged.
  • It is not about what resources we have outside of us but what resources can we tap into from inside. 
  • It is about our emotions which are essentially our energy movements in our body.

  • Humility is the foundation of meaningful introspection. 
  • True self-reflection cannot be ego-driven. 
  • It’s about challenging our identity and considering if we’re truly effective in our actions.

[17:57] – How can failure lead us from being smart to being wise?

  • The majority of our experiences are not successes.
  • Learning from failure is what gives you resilience.
  • Resilient leadership is extraordinarily valuable and meaningful.
  • There are two kinds of learning: incremental learning and transformational learning.
  • Incremental learning comes from our successes and learning and reading about other people’s successes.
  • Transformational learning comes from our failures because only when we can learn from our own failures.
