[03:12] – How do you define true happiness? What are some common misconceptions people have about happiness?

  • Happiness is a state of being that is difficult to express in words.
  • It is characterized by an experience of joy, a sense of well-being, an experience of contentment and fulfilment in our life. 
  • Misconceptions around happiness arise because people are running after the wrong things. 

[13:44] – What role does gratitude play in cultivating happiness?

  • When we feel gratitude, we acknowledge that we have received a gift.
  • The source of the gift is outside of us. 
  • We can’t be grateful to our own selves, so we accept that there is goodness outside.
  • Gratitude is one of the finest sentiments to cultivate in our hearts and grow in our sense of inner joy.

  • Destiny is not something that has fallen on us accidentally.
  • The actions we performed in our past lives have transformed into our destiny.
  • Those actions resulted in what we are enjoying or suffering today but we still have the freedom of choice.
  • Freedom starts off with the ability to choose our thoughts.
  • When we start choosing the thoughts that are uplifting, then our destiny starts changing. 

[38:13] – What is ultimate happiness?

  • The ultimate happiness comes when we seek to give happiness to others rather than searching for our own happiness.
  • It comes when we try to serve the Supreme.
  • The scriptures say that the Lord is a servant of His devotees, it is because of the bliss he is getting from the hearts of His devotees.
