Jignesh’s journey so far
Jignesh tells us that both his parents were teachers, his mother used to give tuitions at home as well. So the whole ecosystem of his house was filled with studies and knowledge. When he grew up and he had to choose a stream for further studies, his father asked him to go for commerce. This is how his journey of being a CA started. Jignesh tells us that education is the only mantra for success according to his parents. Being a doting son, he completed his CA, and after that also did LLB to increase his knowledge. At the age of 16, he landed his first job at the Indian Passport Office.Â
The puzzling turns in Jignesh’s academic life
As earlier discussed, Jignesh holds multiple academic degrees. Jignesh Bhate has been the topper and the gold medalist in his CA years. He is also a qualified lawyer. After that, he moved to the Biotech industry.Â
He tells us that he worked with Pharma companies as a research analyst and understood the pharma sector a lot. Though he was a CA, saving lives through better medication always excited him. While working, Jignesh got to interact with many pharma companies like NUS, Dr. Reddy, and many more. He tells us that Molecular Connections could be built because of the technology of NUS and the subject knowledge of Dr. Reddy.
How does the work at Molecular Connections affect the industry?
Jignesh tells us that working with molecules is very expensive in terms of money and time. It takes about ten years and a billion dollars. Molecular Connections tries to shorten the process and increase the hit rate. To make us understand better, Jignesh tells us that one of the ways to improve the heat rate in the market is to protect the side effects of a drug. Because if the drug has a lot of side effects it won’t get approval from the governing body and Molecular connections is very good at predicting the side effects of the drugs.
The biggest lesson learned by Jignesh in the past 20 years of Molecular Connections
Jignesh says that through an entrepreneurial perspective, he believes that the biggest learning of his life at Molecular connections is perseverance.
Why does the world question the data integrity of India and how do Indian companies deal with that?
Jignesh believes that it is only our work that we do for the community and the world at large that will prove our capabilities. He says that the quality of the work India does is not inferior to any other country in his opinion.
The future of Biotech, Bioinformatics and Data Sciences in India
Jignesh sees a phenomenal future of Biotech, Bioinformatics, and Data Sciences in India. He tells us that numerous molecules are coming into existence and India is doing a great job in identifying and polishing new potentials.Â

Jignesh shares some very interesting points with us that not only the new generation, but everyone should keep in mind. From a career perspective, he advises never to lose sight of one’s core values. He further says that there is no substitute for hard work and discipline.
From a life perspective, he advises you to work on your strengths and not to think about your weaknesses. He also advises the younger generation to follow their passion.
