- I started from a remote place in Telangana.
- I studied in Telugu medium until my 12th standard.
- My journey actually started after I went to IIT Bombay for my master’s.
- Then I went to Germany for my Ph.D., then I went to the US for a post-doctoral fellowship.
- IIT Bombay offered me a faculty position, so I came back and joined IIT.

- One good thing about IITs is their academic freedom.
- We have more autonomy as compared to any other institution in the country.

- It’s the quality of faculty that IITs are still able to attract.
- We are still able to recruit some of the finest people as faculty members.
- The academics are pretty competitive here.
