[02:41] – About the Centre for Strategic Communication Excellence. What was your motivation to start it?
- Our organization is a global professional development and insights organization.
- Our mission is to elevate the value and visibility of strategic communication as a force for good in society.
- We accomplish this in three specific ways across organizations:
- The first aspect is our focus on developing strategic communication professionals. These are the individuals who are employed by organizations to specialize in developing strategic communication as a profession.
- We do is build the communication capability of leaders in organizations.
- We build communication skills of employees because ultimately communication is everybody’s responsibility in an organization.
[05:19] – About the Global Communication Certification Council. Why do you think certification is important?
- The Global Communication Certification Council is an autonomous governing body for the global communication certification program.
- It was a body that was established by the International Association of Business Communicators.
- It maintains an internationally recognized standard of strategic communication excellence based on a global body of knowledge.
- We have two levels of certification: the first is the CMP or the Communication Management Professional Certification.
- The second level of certification is the Strategic Communication Management Professional which is for more senior communication professionals, who are skilled in providing strategic advice and counsel to an organization’s leadership.
