Having started his career with Chemical Engineering, Mr. Hepburn took up a junior water job in London to explore the hotel industry. Ever since he’s served and excelled in the hotel business! Starting with the most basic jobs of waitering and cutlery cleaning, Mr. Hepburn got his big break when he got a call from Hong Kong with respect to a job at the Mandarin! He then continued working for 13 years in different branches of The Mandarin, throughout Asia. After working long enough in the hotel industry, Mr. Hepburn grabbed an exciting opportunity in 2001 and started the first Luxury Lifestyle company in China!Â

In 2001,Hepburn was founding Managing Director of the renowned Three On The Bund company, in China where he lead the company which created and developed the Three On The Bund destination concept, initially in Shanghai. This opened for commercial operation in 2004, under his management ,as a unique, integrated, lifestyle experience, building the first luxury brand from China.
Hepburn,has a distinguished track record in the hospitality industry. He enjoyed success with some of the world’s most prestigious hotel companies where he has directed numerous transformation programs and new concept openings and has enjoyed success with a wide range of award winning initiatives.
Prior to life in Asia, Hepburn spent a total of seven years at three of London’s best hotels. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality (F.I.H.) and a graduate of the Westminster Hotel School.
An active member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) currently serving as a Global Board member, Chair of the Chapters & Regions Committee, Chair of YPO Gold Council, a founding member and Chair of the Pan Asia Chapter. He served as past Chair of South East Asia YPO, Chair of the Board of Trustees at Dulwich College, Shanghai ,Vice Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce ,China. In 2018, Alan was inducted into the Global Scot Hall of Fame by Scottish First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.
