Ashutosh in his present avatar is a Storyteller, Author, Business Coach, and the Founder of this very platform, The Brand Called You. 

Ashutosh has worked in the corporate sector for 25 years! He has worked for leading companies like ITC and has spent 8 years in the Aerospace industry. Thereafter, Ashutosh established his own venture, Guardian Pharmacy in 2003. 

He soon drove this venture to become India’s second-largest pharmacy chain with over 200 stores. Ashutosh is a certified Business Coach and has mentored the CEOs of several global companies on executive and governance matters. 

In January 1995 he was recognized as the Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. He is also an active member of the Young Presidents Organisation. In addition to this, Ashutosh is also the author of 8 books!

Ashutosh is the author of some very intriguing books. He believes every person has a book within themselves. He constantly encourages people to pen down their experiences. 

Talking about his own books, he shares that after he penned down 30,000 words, there was no stopping him! He got a writing flow that led him to write one remarkable book after another. Ashutosh has written on diverse topics like a failure, personal branding, retirement, etc. He has also explored his interest in writing fictional books.

After reminiscing some amazing moments of his professional life, Ashutosh shares that he has tried his best to learn from his mistakes and has kept moving forward. According to him, self-evaluation is the strongest step one can take towards growth.

A published author of 7 best-selling books, he has written on Startups, Entrepreneurship, Retirement in the 21st Century, Personal Branding, Work Life Balance and Fiction. His latest book on Failure is titled “How to Survive Failure and come out Stronger”.

He writes regularly for Times of India and Business World can often be seen on National Television panel discussions.

Ashutosh founded Guardian Pharmacy in India in 2003 and built it into India’s second largest Pharmacy Chain. He exited from the business in 2016.

Prior to that he worked for ITC Limited for 17 years leaving in 1996 and thereafter with US Aerospace companies for 8 years as their Head of Asia.

Ashutosh served on the board of GAVI, The Vaccine Alliance (www.gavi.org) for 8 years. He sits on several boards and advises companies on strategy and governance matters. He was the Chairman of Bizdome, the Startup Incubator of IIM Rohtak till 2018.

He is a YPO member and was Chairman of YPO South Asia Gold (2017-19). He was recognised as a Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum in 1994.

His wife Vera is a Historian and teaches at the American Embassy School, New Delhi. His older son, Varun works for Visa in Singapore as their Senior Director and his younger son, Ashwin works for Procter and Gamble in Fayetteville, Arkansas, as their Senior Director.

A keen golfer, he plays the Indian flute, enjoys reading and listening to Indian classical music
