Prof K Srinath Reddy, President, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI)

On this episode of The Brand Called You, we have with us an extremely senior professional of the public health field, Professor K Srinath Reddy. Mr. Reddy is the President of the Public Health Foundation of India. He was the former head for cardiology at IIMS. He is recognised globally and is associated with various medical colleges including Harvard and the University of Sydney. He is also an author of the book called ‘Make Health in India’. 

Mr. Reddy has done his MBBS from Hyderabad and training and masters in Epidemiology from Canada. Talking about the PHFI, Mr. Reddy described it as an umbrella organisation which has institutes of public health in the country. He mentioned that it provides technical support to Central and State governments, develops problem solving and affordable medical technology.  

Mr. Garg and Mr. Reddy engaged in a very grilling conversation about public health in India. Challenges faced by the country, the status of maternal, infant and neonatal mortalities. They also discussed the various non communicable diseases that need attention. Mr. Reddy explained how PHFI is helping out in managing the current COVID19 situation by offering training programs for different aspects of covid, analytics, research, public education and communication. His career is vast and he is full of experiences. Mr. Reddy is highly ethical and believes in working towards goals without compromising principles.
