00:36- About Yusuf S Galabhaiwala

  • Yusuf is the director of operations of Galalite projection screens.
  • He is also the founder of Honey All Day.

08:03- How have you introduced modernization and how have you transitioned from cotton to other materials that you use in Galalite screens?

  • During my father’s era, automation was introduced with the installation of India’s first perforating machine in 1987, optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Emphasis was placed on R&D, leading to the exploration of new materials and fabrics worldwide, enabling the transition from cotton to advanced coated surfaces.
  • My focus was on developing coated surfaces which led to the establishment of a coating facility in 2009, making Galalite the only Indian company with an in-house coating facility for projection screens, and pioneering advancements in screen technology.

21:38- What would you say are three lessons you have learned as a young entrepreneur, that a lot of our viewers and listeners can take away from your learnings?

  • Focus on creating and implementing systems within your business to free up your time and avoid becoming overwhelmed with tasks. Documenting processes allows for easier delegation of work, granting you more flexibility and control.
  • While starting a freedom business is common, many entrepreneurs end up doing everything themselves, leading to a loss of freedom over time. Recognize the importance of delegation and systematization to maintain your autonomy as an entrepreneur.
  • Understand that while systems may seem complex, they are essential for streamlining operations. Treat the process of implementing systems like breathing—crucial, yet ultimately simple when broken down into manageable steps.
