02:10- What is the meaning of the word Ubuntu? And tell me about the founding of the Ubuntu hub.

  • It is a communal type of philosophy based on the idea that we coexist as people and need each other, and we need to work together.
  • A lot of the resources are very expensive, so schools in Africa tend not to be able to afford a lot of the professional development or the curriculum design and they aren’t appropriate for the societies and communities of Africa.
  • The idea is to tap into those teachers’ experience, knowledge, and wisdom, and allow them the opportunity to share that wisdom with colleagues from around the sub-Saharan African continent.

22:45- What is the most important lesson you have learned from working with educators across Africa?

  • The most important lesson is that collaboration is very important in education.
