Dhruv, being the Country Manager for Forever New here in India, talks about the growth of the brand and its focus to provide top-notch quality to consumers. He talks about the changes that have taken place with increasing Gen Z buyers and how it has impacted the brand.
Apart from being a highly experienced corporate professional, Dhruv is also a cyclist who has been on some very exciting but dangerous journeys around the world. Retail industry veteran, Dhruv Bogra has 30 years of rich, multi-dimensional experience in the Indian and International retail multiverse. In his latest role as the Country Manager for the Australian fashion brand “Forever New” for India, Bogra contributes his expertise in his current role that involves driving the overall business for India and Southeast Asia for the Forever New brand. Prior to joining Forever New, he has held various leadership roles at companies such as Adidas Group India, Bestseller Retail, Titan Industries, and Levi Strauss.
In his career he has achieved milestones like launching from scratch, over ten brands across retail and FMCG, consolidating and relaunching retail and marketing strategies to catapult the brand and the organization to the next level. In his career, he has also been instrumental in signing up and opening more than a thousand stores for various global and Indian brands such as Levi Strauss, Titan, and Adidas. Dhruv has experience in managing complex franchise and company-operated stores and large format stores across categories and one of his key achievements has been building world-class teams. He is an alumnus of the International Management Institute, New Delhi. He is commercially astute with a passion for driving organizational change and employee happiness to deliver core business objectives.
Apart from his quest for challenging the status quo and drive for innovation, he is an avid adventure traveler, and exploration has been an intrinsic part of his life. He adopted his childhood passion for cycling in 2011 and since then he has traveled over 48,000 km on a bicycle. He also embarked on an epic, solo and unsupported 15,000 km cycling journey from Alaska to Peru and became the first Indian citizen to cycle the length of North and Central America.
He is also a traditionally published author, and chronicled his pan American expedition in a book titled- ‘Grit, Gravel, and Gear’. The 387-page adventure travel epic comprises a collection of 22 stories and many poems detailing his solo and unsupported expedition across the fascinating 15,000 km stretch of land – spread across 10 countries on his bicycle; fondly called ‘Quest.’ The book has won excellent reviews from leading publications like HT and India Today and has been on the top 100 books across global and Indian titles at Crossword stores. In April 2020, whilst the lockdown was in force, he wrote his second book ‘Away’. The book is on real cycling and bikepacking adventures in the wilderness of the Himalayas and Alaska and celebrates the essence of finding freedom through micro adventure trips.
Dhruv’s interests are adventure travel and writing, travel photography, human civilizations, and believes passionately in preserving the environment and the rights of indigenous cultures. He often travels to the Himalayas on solo cycling expeditions to renew himself.
