  • Insurance also began to penetrate the market. Since then, there has been a huge transformation in the healthcare industry. 
  • From the evolution of surgery techniques to the adoption of advanced medical technology, the industry has come a long way.
  • Infrastructure has also grown tremendously, reaching tier-two cities, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. 
  • Digitalization has played a big role in healthcare in recent years. 
  • The government has put a lot of emphasis on healthcare, with schemes like Ayushman Bharat catering to those below the poverty line. 
  • The proportion of GDP allocated to healthcare has also increased over the years. 
  • Overall, the future looks bright for healthcare in India, not just for corporates but for other professionals as well.

  • Home Health Care is an area of healthcare that is set to grow at a multiple CAGR rate of more than 20% in the next four to five years. 
  • People can receive medical treatments, such as chemotherapy, at home, which is more convenient and safer than going to the hospital during times of infectious outbreaks.
  • Hospitals have started their own Home Health Care arms, and local companies in India are making devices to support this growing market. 
  • However, medical devices are regulated by certain quality norms and regulations to ensure accuracy and safety. 
  • As a result, the market for medical devices is becoming more regulated over time.
