Overview
India has been producing a lot of startups recently but still, there is a lot of gap between the startups and the investors. There is also a lack of guidance for the startups from getting investment to launching their product properly in the market and actually making a feasible business out of their ideas. Today, we will talk with Mr. Chintan Oza about how he is helping startups at various stages of their business.
00:09 – About Chintan Oza

12:10 – How did your entrepreneurial journey start?
- I’ve been a curious guy and my father was also a research scientist. So, I have been in that kind of environment. I was the guy who would go to my seniors and ask for more and more work.
- When I left Reliance group, I was offered a couple of interesting opportunities, but then I decided to move on because certain other projects excited me.
- When you are working in a certain position for a long time your learning stops and that is what happened to me. So, I left my corporate job and joined the startup as CTO and invested my savings into them and that is how it all started from 2019 onwards.
20:30 – How does a startup get into the Founder Institute Program?
- What we do is recruit startups at the pre-seed stage.
- We try to identify the startups that have some traction, but they do not have their idea completely validated.
- Then we try to help them validate their ideas and get a vision and then integrate all of that into an actual business model.
- We also have an investor community so that we can have various interactions and get different independent viewpoints.
25:21 – What are some of the attributes that make for success?
- They must have a demonstrable product that has got a clear demand in the market. There must be proof that there is a need and a buyer for the product in the market.
- The second thing is that the product should have built some traction.
- The third and maybe the most important point is the team. The team should be able to operate the business and be open-minded so that they can work together and integrate different viewpoints and work towards a common goal.
45:45 – What are some of the other areas that you think are going to be change-makers for society and business?
- One thing I am looking forward to is the future of the Food Industry. I see people moving towards organic and plant-based food and away from meat.
- Another one is the rise of mobility and the rise of sustainable energy ecosystems. I see governments moving towards renewable energy plants like wind farms and solar plants etc.
- The last one would be automated manufacturing because more and more companies are moving towards automating as much manufacturing as possible.
