04:06- How have human resources changed over the years?

  • It has changed the way the economy has changed.
  • When it all started, it was part of the industrial age where you had a personnel manager, because
  • everything was focused on production.
  • You had to make sure your production line is working, you’re churning out products and your workforce is organized with an adequate level of education to be able to produce.
  • Then we shifted into the services economy. we had the emergence of human resources managers.
  • You need to have more people skills more focused on the customer.
  • As we shift into an information economy, that’s where you need knowledge workers.

11:21- Thoughts on moonlighting

  • I believe it’s here to stay, and we have to adapt to it.
  • The nature of work, and also the nature of the worker is changing.
  • New generations coming on board, have new sets of values and beliefs.

17:57- What are the areas the young leaders need to be coached?

  • The first aspect is expanding self-awareness. Because we’re exposed to so much information that our focus is outside and not inside.
  • So it’s really shining the light in the mirror on ourselves to look at our own, view our perspectives, exploring our own strengths, areas for improvement, values, purpose, and skills. And that’s the starting point.
  • I would say is to be coached on how to be more focused.
