Overview

MBA has become more and more popular. MBA programs now have to focus more on practical learning rather than sticking to traditional teaching patterns. AI is coming out to be one of the major factors in the development of future MBA programs. Specifically, Generative AI is looking very promising as it helps create characters and scenarios that enhance the experiential learning of the students. Today we have Conor with us to tell us more about this

00:33- About Conor Grennan

  • He is the Dean of students of the MBA program at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
  • He leads the GenerativeAI@Stern a no-tech initiative aimed at fostering generative AI fluency among NYU Stern students, faculty, and administration.
  • He is the author of the book “Little Princes: One Man’s Promise to Bring Home the Lost Children of Nepal”.
  • He likes to travel which is how he ended up in Nepal.

06:15- How do you incorporate the need for practical experiences in your program?

  • We have been trying to revolutionize our program by including elements of experiential learning.
  • Generative AI helps us create characters and scenarios which then enhances their experiential learning.
  • We should try to tap more and more into the power of generative AI so that we can improve our learning experience.

11:22- How does your program help develop entrepreneurs?

  • Basically, we ourselves are looking for people who have entrepreneurial mindsets in our MBA program.
  • We try to incorporate initiative in our class programs. We don’t just teach from the book, but we also try to make students think for themselves.
  • When we ask students to think about what they would do in a certain situation, we help them expand their minds to think beyond just reading in the classroom.

15:18- What inspired you to write the book?

  • I have always loved to write. I always keep a journal to keep track of my life and my thoughts.
  • When I went to Nepal, I just started writing whatever I saw which is also a lesson for aspiring writers. Just write, and start writing whatever you see.
  • I was mainly just writing for myself and this is something I always say to people. Don’t worry about people’s reviews, just be yourself.
