12:10- Challenges of teleconsultation.

  • The challenge we faced was the choice of the city and selection of our first partner hospital there. 
  • Building a comprehensive ecosystem of super-specialist doctors and partner hospitals has been another challenge that we successfully surmounted.
  • Breaking the local stranglehold on patients from the existing doctors and healthcare facilities is never easy.
  • We had to hire locally and suitably train the team. This can be time-consuming and expensive, especially when you are trying to scale up operations.

19:40- Legal challenges associated with telemedicine.

  • Telemedicine market needs to be regulated. 
  • Responsibilities need to be fixed at various levels at the government, healthcare ministry, district level, and state level.
  • Quality frameworks need to be put into place. 
  • Patient safety and confidentiality have to be noted.
  • No loss of clinical data. 

23:10- Lessons from the conversation.

  • 3 major milestones of my career are- joining the army, joining the healthcare industry, and starting a start-up. 
  • Integrity and commitment are the core values of my career. If you lack integrity, everything becomes redundant.
