[00:22] – About Prof Amos N Guiora

04:58-What is the Bystander Initiative?
- Created at the University of Utah law school, the Bystander Initiative enables me to undertake a project called the Ecosystem of Paedophilia.
- In 1997, a 12-year-old boy was murdered in West Virginia by his principal, the case was covered up by local law enforcement, and the teacher had been shuffled from school to school in Pennsylvania and in West Virginia.
- I’m using those documents and the boy’s murder as the platform for examining the ecosystem of paedophilia.
- I’m working on a book and an article, there will be podcasts about it, to make all this happen we need funding.
09:46- Do you think it’s possible to have the awakening before the law?
- There’s more and more recognition because of the girls at Michigan State or the USA Gymnastics Catholic Church.
- Due to Epstein and his friends, there may be an increasing recognition that the perpetrator is awful.
- We need to look at broader society when dealing with questions regarding enablers.
- Is that a moral question or a legal question?
23:32- Which countries are creating the best laws surrounding punishing the enabler?
- It’s a race. I’m working with the Australian legislature.
- I’ve testified in Holland, and I’m working with the legislature in Utah.
- I reached out to people in the UK. I will work with anyone.
- I don’t care what country I don’t care what jurisdiction.
- The question is really simple. Are we going to protect the vulnerable or not protect the vulnerable?
- The only person I will not work with is Holocaust deniers. I debated a holocaust minimizer. And that was enough for me.
