Overview
We should never assume that One person’s well-being is another person’s well-being. That is rightly said by Ann Bueche, lead consultant and founder ofBe Kind. (re)Design. While experiencing the culture of all continents, Bueche decided to take a step towards kindness and raise concern for the well-being of humans and our planet.
Ann shared some valuable insights about well-being in this vodcast of THE BRAND CALLED YOU.
[0:32] About Ann Bueche and her journey.
- Ann is a lead consultant and founder of Be Kind. (re)Design. She works at the intersection of global and local to increase livability and protect the plane.
- As per Ann, We all bring our experiences and learning to the table. We are shaped by geography, time, role models, and our capacity to learn and unlearn.
- Her diversity of lived experiences, from growing up in a walkable downtown neighborhood in a small manufacturing city to professional studies and work around the U.S. and the world, including Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Italy, England, Poland, Indonesia, and Hungary shape how I view and interact with my colleagues, peers, and clients.
- Today, her main focus is how best our human communities can exist and serve our neighbors well while preserving and regenerating nature.
[02:22]- Tell me about Be Kind. (re)Design and what you do here.
- Be Kind. (re)Design is my effort as an independent consultant, which I started in my early 40s. I followed a long trajectory of an international career where I worked in international development.
- I left my full-time work and studied small business management and interior design.
- I am a focused, kind change agent who designs and facilitates programs to engage people and improve services. Each program and intervention are a step towards needed culture shifts – permanent changes in behavior and thinking. I am an internationalist, bringing a global perspective to local issues in the U.S. and globally.
- Current areas of interest include Sustainability, Resilience, Planetary Health, Social Justice, Environmental Justice, Governance, Local Government Service Delivery, Livable Communities, Walkability, Equity Planning, and Restorative Efforts (environmental and social).
[23:50]- What three lessons do you want our viewers & listeners to take away from your journey?
- We need to take cues from ourselves regarding personal well-being. Listen to your body and see what your body is telling you.
- Shared experiences are precious. The more we can share our experiences, the better we may be on for as far as well-being is concerned.
- Protect the planet that we have. There is only one planet, and we are only 8 billion on it, but we cannot be around ourselves until we look after the earth.
