2020 saw a great rise in people taking up work from home jobs and internships. Digital employment platforms monopolised the employment sector and the gig economy took over the market.
About Rishav:
Today TBCY brings you an entrepreneur who is leading one of biggest digital employment platforms in India. We are pleased to welcome Rishav Agarwal on the podcast.
Rishav is the Founder and CEO of Picxele. He is the Founder of Floatex Marketing Solutions and runs an app called the Shabad App. In a very interesting conversation with host Ashutosh, RIshav shares his journey of setting up Picxele and his journey as a startup leader.
About Picxele:
As a platform that has seen immense growth over the past year, Rishav shares how the digitisation of job opportunities is witnessing a surge. He talks about the gig economy and simplifies the term for the audience.
Rishav shares the story of his own venture- Picxele. An operational gig economy space, Picxele is the brainchild of Rishav who has been planning the venture since his graduation. Having done 43 internships during his college time, Rishav realised that companies were unable to efficiently hire and manage interns.
Picxele is a venture that helps meet on demand business requirements that companies have. The requirements are turned into tasks and distributed to interns willing to take them up. It is a very compelling platform for freelancers as well as freshers looking for work. There are opportunities for skilled as well as unskilled labour on the platform and that makes it very inclusive.
On the Gig Economy:
With the Gig Economy at an all time rise, there is still a major part of the population that is unaware of the gig space. Rishav simplifies the concept and explains its increasing demand. He also explains other concepts of gig like the payment processes, work accountability, time flexibility etc.
“So the definition of a gig is like performing the simplest of tasks in exchange of money. anyone who is willing to go as a,part-time can devote some time from the day and can do some simple activities can work on it.Right from the college students to working professionals, to freelancers
and homemakers.”
He also explains other concepts of gig like the payment processes, work accountability, time flexibility etc.
“We come into the non-contractual work where we give the pay-per-task method. So that’s where the gig lessons come in.”
Rishav shares that the Gig Economic Market is estimated to touch a whopping $325 billion mark by 2025. India stands third in terms of global flexi staffing. The economy is rising rapidly and more and more people are becoming a part of it.
