02:42- What was the story behind the EkStep Foundation? What inspired you along with Mr. Nandan Nilekani and Rohini Nilekani to start this initiative?

  • I, along with Nandan Nilekani and Rohini Nilekani, founded the EkStep Foundation in 2014.
  • I was inspired by the belief in the power of a small group of determined individuals to make a difference, we sought to replicate our success in the corporate world into philanthropy.
  • We chose education as our focus area, recognizing its transformative impact on our own lives and viewing it as the ultimate way to give back to society. Our goal was to reach 200 million children in India by 2020 and enhance our access to learning opportunities.

  • Social entrepreneurs should be prepared for personal transformation, as the journey of making an impact begins with changing oneself.
  • Embrace the discomfort that comes with change, both for oneself and for the world.
  • Navigate the constant balance between belief and self-delusion, relying on friends, colleagues, and partners to provide honest feedback and reflection.
