  • It addresses the challenge of a high failure rate among startups in India, which is often attributed to a lack of structured mentoring. 
  • It aims to bring global best practices to mentoring and create a supportive ecosystem for startups.

[10:15] – What is the selection process for startups at PadUp Ventures, and how does it contribute to improving their chances of success?

  • The selection process involves a data-driven approach, with startups initially applying to programs. 
  • Shortlisting is done based on various criteria, and a panel of experts conducts video interviews. 
  • The selected startups go through a boot camp called the “PadUp Way,” which follows a disciplined entrepreneurship process. 
  • The goal is to help startups build an investable business, increasing their chances of success.

[16:56] – How do you manage your time with a diverse portfolio, including mentoring startups, managing PadUp Ventures, and sitting on various boards?

  • I follow a unique time management approach, allocating my time into three buckets: 100 days of travel, 100 days for PadUp Ventures, and 100 days for board responsibilities. 
  • This balanced approach allows me to derive energy and insights from different areas while ensuring a meaningful distribution of his time.
