- The framework is divided into five domains: clear, complicated, complex, chaotic, and operatic.
- The operatic domain represents a question to which the answer is not known until the problem is thought about differently.
- The boundary between clear and complicated is a distinction between where everyone knows and agrees on what to do and where only experts need to know.

- “Cynefin” in Welsh means “the place of your multiple belongings”.
- It refers to the idea that one is entangled with many pasts, physical, emotional, spiritual, and familial.
- A Welsh name of spiritual significance was chosen to compete in the debate when someone renamed their model ‘Narc’.

- Read a lot. Read outside your field.
- Argue a lot. Be able to defend the position.
- Do what you’re passionate about. It will work out.
